Wordpress to Hugo
Hey! We migrated from Wordpress to the static site generator Hugo just now. It’s hilarious that the first post was in 2012 (6 or so years after our inception). We still meet every week, though there’ve been changes, like the birth of several a cappella babies!!! Maybe we’ll get into posting more. We’re performing in a week and a half at DeCadence’s spring show! It’s on April 30, 2023, at 12:30pm, in our old stomping grounds at 125 Morrison.
La Grippe: Spot@Home
Unable to meet in-person, Spot performs Squirrel Nut Zipper’s more-than-ever relevant song, “La Grippe” for this Spot@Home video project!
Spot at DeCadence's fall 2015 show
Spot went to the circus for DecCadence’s fall show last Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015. We premiered our cover of Vienna Teng’s Hymn of Acxiom, a song about digital marketing, tracking, and big data. We also ended up licking spiders in our madlib-style StarPhoenixPlumJam. DeCadence’s theme this semester was Harry Potter, so we couldn’t not wave our wands around to Patronus.
Lyrics to The Kraken
The Kraken’s a song that captures the essence who we are and why we do this. Written and arranged by Alan Coyne in 2014, it’s a favorite at. Hear it the following ways: In performance in Berkeley earlier this year (3/1/15) as mermaids, pirates, and other sea creatures In performance in 2013 at the Subterranean Arthouse And as a World of Warcraft machinima music video, courtesy of Lawless, some time in 2011!

Save the date: Spot sings Sat 2/23/13 in Berkeley!
We’re putting on a concert! When: Saturday, Feb 23rd, 2013 at 8pm Where: Subterranean Arthouse in Berkeley 2179 Bancroft Way Berkeley, CA 3 blocks from Downtown Berkeley BART. Here’s a map. We had an epic music party on NYE to bring in 2013 with lots of instruments, which is not something that usually happens when we meet, being an a cappella group and all.
